About your trip

 Join your friends from NW Ski Club Council, NWSCC, and Far West Ski Association FWSA, on an epic adventure to Banff, AB, Canada next year!  This is an IKON PASS destination resort. 

SkiBig3 is Banff Sunshine, Lake Louise & Mt. Norquay. These 3 resorts boast almost 8,000 acres of skiing, 2 gondolas, 26 chairlifts and an annual snowfall tally upwards of 30 feet of feather-light powder snow. Lift lines here are reasonably short, and the skiing is excellent!

O CANADA, HERE WE COME!

This is a Canadian trip, so don't forget your passport. Remember too, your dollars go farther here! Banff is a hugely popular ski town with many affordable bars and restaurants, along with some high-level options if you're inclined. Drinking age in Banff is 18years, so don't think you are feeling old. There are ski/board and equipment rentals available in town, as well as a large assortment of retail stores for anything you may have missed packing or feel the need to browse.

Theme for the week is Denim and Diamonds--you can dress up for Council Challenge Costume race and the banquet dinner dance if you want!

Day 1

Arrive in Calgary

Fly into Calgary Int'l Airport, Canada YYC or make the drive from your home state. Either way, plan to arrive in time for 4pm hotel check-in in Banff, AB 

The shuttle is easy to arrange for transfer from the airport to your hotel, here is the link, and remember, these are Canadian dollars! If you miss the shuttle for any reason, don't despair as there are multiple departures for our group. Brewster Express Shuttle; expect about 2-hour travel time. Dinner on your own tonight, we'll post an update on where we're heading closer to the event if you want to join.

Sunday ski day and Dessert Social Welcome Reception

Start your day with the breakfast buffet, give yourself enough time to fully enjoy the offerings and get your day off to a good start. The buffet features an abundance of fresh fruits, cereals, pastries, and a full array of hot items.

We will have optional departure times at the bus stop for meeting up with us and travel to the Banff Sunshine Village resort for the day. The bus stop is outside of your hotel room, just steps away. Option to meet mountain host guides at 11:45 AM in front of Old Sunshine Lodge for a free tour of the mountain based on skill set.

Return to town and dinner on your own, then we'll meet at Melissa's MisSteak Restaurant in town for our welcome reception and social from 7-9pm. The evening features some delicious dessert and fresh fruit offerings plus a drink choice of beer or wine. Sign-ups for GS and Council Race Challange are here tonight as well.

Giant Slalom Racing at Lake Louise Resort

Breakfast buffet starts the day right! Get in gear and come watch or participate in the no cost = free council Giant Slalom Races at Lake Louise Resort

Meet times are scheduled at the bus stop to gather with your group and head up to Lake Louise Resort for the day. Break for lunch and share all your best run adventures, then head back up and go another round in the afternoon.

Dinner on your own tonight, pair up with your friends, we're all going somewhere and there's a lot of choices tonight so rest up and get out for more fun.

Council Dinner at The Balkan Restaurant Banff

Breakfast buffet, never ending and always fresh to start another fun day! 

Ski your choice of resorts, there's so much to do here so get out and explore. Meet times will post to join a group at the bus stop for each resort choice. Or take a side trip, there's many options for a rest day off the boards, your choice.

Be back in time for our amazing 6pm dinner at Balkan Restaurant Banff in town. We have an incredible feast planned, so prepare your taste buds for the fresh flavours of the Mediterranean and relax while we take care of you tonight.

Council Challange Team Racing & Picnic Lunch

After your excellent breakfast, get ready for our Team Racing Challange with your council. Head out to Lake Louise Resort and cheer on your friends or join in for fun! 

Be sure to pre-register for this event, see the separate sign ups available.

Dress to theme of Diamonds to Denim for Council Challenge Costume race if you want to impress. Take a break and enjoy lunch with your friends at our picnic at the Base Village, even if you don't race, you'll have fun being part of this fun group event. Lunch features burgers & sausages with all the fixings, kettle chips, coleslaw, baked cookies, coffee & soft drinks. 

Head back to town when you've had enough and make your own dinner plans with new friends tonight.

Farewell Banquet and Dance Party at The Banff Park Lodge

Breakfast starts the day with another round of healthy choices. It's your choice of resorts to visit today, have you tried Mt. Norquay yet, or do you need to chase that great run you had the other day? Maybe get back early for a spa treatment... so much still to explore. Just make sure you're ready to party by 6:30pm at Banff Park Lodge with our finale event. Includes a plentiful banquet dinner of Wild Mushroom Chicken, Baby Spinach Salad, Vegetables, Rice, Rolls, Chocolate Mousse with Passion Fruit & Coffee. Enjoy a fun picture presentation from the week, and the dancing starts at 8pm. with a DJ spinning a variety of music. Remember the dress theme is  theme Denim to Diamonds if so inclined.

OPEN DAY

On your own, sleep in, have a late breakfast, or rise early for that last trip to the powder mountains that Banff is famous for. You're sure to have plenty of friends old and new to make those final plans with, so enjoy this day and be grateful for being here another day in the Canadian Rockies.

Check Out, Prepare to Depart

Final breakfast, savor the indulgence of being well cared for in an excellent hotel. Pack it up, move it out, say your final farewells and we hope to see you again on our next adventure! If you've reserved the shuttle to airport from Brewster Express, you will have your departure time pre-arranged, be sure to make that bus!
